         This poem comes as a consolation : 

         You can do a lot of things

          With your left hand . 

          Besides , fascist Dronacharya warrant 

           Left - handed treatment 

         Also , 

        You don't need your right thumb , 

          To pull a trigger or hurl a bomb .

Treatment of Dalits   : 

                               Meena , she is a voice of voiceless , she writes for Dalit and their treatment in society . She writes about women treatment , who victimized by others . She is first indain Dalit poet who writes for Dalit and shows Dalit condition in her many works . 

She writes about women treatment , caste and gender issues , patriarchal society , violence ,  Class and racism which brings out the depressed condition of the Dalits . The Eklavyam poem is a Best example of it . The short poem which shows a condition of Dalit .

            The poem writen by Meena kandasamy, 

She writes for Dalit , she gave a voice to Eklavyam . The poem about guru and his student , the fouced of cast system  , the Dronacharya not allowed to Eklavyam to learn archery in gurukul due to he came for lower cast . Aslo Meena relates the myth of Eklavyam with modern society . Meena who present the Eklavyam symbolic represent becomes a victim of society . 

               The poem comes as a consolation of boy in next she writes about Eklavyam that he could do so many things with his left hand and he not need the right thumb to pull a trigger or hurl a bomb . The Eklavyam come from Dalit cast , he wish to learn archery from Dronacharya but Dronacharya denied him , they only teach royal family's sons . Eklavyam who learns his archery skill simply by watching Dronacharya , he learns his own self . He made a statue of Dronacharya and started archary . 

Meena writes fascist Dronacharya who gave a warrant to Eklavyam to give his thumb , as gurudakashina . Meena kandasamy who is a voice of voiceless , she writes this poem for Dalit , not only women victimed or suffers but men of Dalits also a suffers a lot . She present new world which is very powerful than older . The person do anything with his one hand they don't need his right hand or right thumb to do anything . She also gave a idea about politics . Here Dronacharya is a represent of fascist in the , who not allowed to Eklavyam to learn archery  and gave warrant. She recalls Eklavyam who silently vanished  in the history , she tried to gave voice or a new life to him . 

She also try to define that the person not need a anything do anything in modern society due to there are many sources . So the person not need a thumb in modern society .

                " When Dronacharya asked Eklavyam for his thumb as gurudakashina was it really partiality  , favouritism towards Arjuna or was it a from of scholarly Ego ? " 

Indain caste system  : 

                                   The indain caste system is divided into four varnas . At the first are the Brahmins , next are the shatriyas , vaishya and finally last shudras . The Dalits have no right to speak in society . People who belongs from upper class they have equal opportunities in society  but Dalits haven't been able to take all facilities which upper class people take due to his cast . 

Modern Dalit literature  : 

                                     Dalit literature , it is voice of voiceless . The new Dalit writers are an urban educated , English speaking individual trained in the university . New Dalit writers move away from the narrow mind of caste rigidity . They fouce on politics and global identity , many other things . Many writers who are speaking for condition of Dalit , not only see oppression and injustices but also progress of Dalit literature there opportunities, and new way of literature .
